The early Boone and Crockett Club Member was initially attracted to hunting big game specimens for museums. Eventually, he shifted his sights to big bones from prehistoric times.

Beginning in 2021, thanks to the Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s Outdoor Fund grant, the Boone and Crockett Club’s Conservation Education programs have continuously and rapidly evolved with the times and technologies in an effort to meet new and existing audiences where they are.

The Boone and Crockett Club commends today’s action by the Senate Agriculture Committee to pass the Fix Our Forests Act (S.1462), introduced by Sens. John Curtis (R-UT), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Tim Sheehy (R-MT), and Alex Padilla (D-CA), by a bipartisan vote of 18-5. The following is a statement by Boone and Crockett Club chief executive officer Tony A. Schoonen.

At a press conference held in Washington, DC, the Boone and Crockett Club announced the findings of the most comprehensive research project on poaching in this country. Using a Bayesian statistical framework, the Poach and Pay research determined that only about 4% of poaching incidents are detected.

The Boone and Crockett Club recently announced that they are seeking a conservation professional and experienced manager to join their senior leadership team as a Chief Operating Officer. Organizations worked together to create scoring procedures and minimum entry requirements for the new category in their records programs.

The Boone and Crockett Club and Pope and Young Club announced today that they have completed scoring procedures and are now accepting entries for javelina (collared peccary, Pecari tajacu) in their record books.
