At the 32nd Big Game Awards Judges Panel, Boone and Crockett Club Official Measurers recently confirmed the measurements of the largest hunter-killed grizzly ever recorded.    

The hunt for a grizzly started in the spring of 2024, when Brian van Lanen hunted with Freelance Outdoor Adventure’s guide John Rydeen and good friend Milan Marcetta.

Moose of Yesterday 

In the Boone and Crockett Club's records, we recognize three categories of moose: Shiras', Alaska-Yukon, and Canada moose. For those of you lucky enough to hunt one of these enormous ungulates, you know how much work comes after the shot.

John A. McGuire was a pioneer of outdoor journalism and an early member of the Boone and Crockett Club. As the founder of Outdoor Life magazine, he encouraged readers to ditch whatever responsibilities they had and take to the hills in search of life in the open.

McGuire was born in 1869, but little is documented about his early life.

My husband and I unloaded our three young children with my parents, and it was just the two of us camping and hunting antelope. Finding a big buck was icing on the cake.

Collisions between avians and aircraft, called bird strikes, are costly, kill birds, and are dangerous to people.

Every year, the Club hosts a dinner and Members' meeting in conjunction with the Wildlife Management Institute's North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference. This year's conference was held in Louisville, Kentucky. Thank you to all the members who were in attendance.
