The Boone and Crockett field scoring kit provides the necessary tools to arrive at an accurate field green score as well as the tools an official measurer needs to score the majority of trophies.
Inside each Boone and Crockett logoed hard case, these kits contain:
Boone and Crockett ¼-inch steel ring end tape—Used to take all circumference measurements on horns, antlers, and tusks
Boone and Crockett ¼-inch steel lip end tape—Used to take length of horns and tusks. The tape also can used to measure tines and antler beams
Six-foot flexible steel cable with mini hook clip—Used to measure beams and tines as well as length of horn on musk ox only.
Folding carpenter’s ruler with brass sliding extension end—Used for taking inside, tip-to-tip, and greatest spreads
White masking tape—Affix this tape to the horns or antlers so marks for measuring are made on the tape and not directly on the trophy being scored
Two different colors of electrical tape—Place this tape on non-typical antlers to differentiate normal from abnormal points. Remove the tape each time a tine is scored to ensure the tine is measured and counted only once
Boone and Crockett Club pencil—Used for marking quarter locations on masking tape affixed to horns.
A dry erase pen and laminated score charts that were created specifically for field use and include abbreviated scoring instructions. They are not meant to be an Official Boone and Crockett Club score chart for entry submission. This pack includes common categories; skulls (bear and cougar), typical antlers (whitetail, mule deer and American elk), non-typical antlers (whitetail, mule deer and American elk), pronghorn, and horns (sheep, bison and rocky mountain goat). If you would like to add Roosevelt’s/tule elk, musk ox, moose, or caribou to your collection please contact Headquarters. There are also two cards providing quarter locations for scoring horns.
