Yellowstone Press joins as sponsor for one of North America's longest-running celebrations of big-game conservation and management - the Boone and Crockett Club 29th Big Game Awards, scheduled for July 14-16, 2016 in Springfield, Missouri.

The triennial Boone and Crockett Club 29th Big Game Awards will take place at the Bass Pro Shops flagship store in Springfield. The event offers a public exhibition of World's Records and Top-5 trophies in all categories of native North American big game, plus records-book specimens taken during the past three years by hunters age 16 and under.

Yellowstone Press, a full service publishing company, is one on a long list of successful companies Robert M. Lee established in his lifetime. His appreciation and passion for collecting fine sporting arms are featured in such books as, The Art of the Gun and Magnificent Colts. Bob Lee recently passed away on January 28.

"Bob was a renaissance man, explorer, conservationist and dedicated member of the Club who sacrificed and gave generously to the things he cared about," said Club President Morrie Stevens. "We are honored that the company he established is carrying on his legacy and is helping to sponsor this event."

Lee's wife, Anne Brockinton Lee said, "Bob cared deeply about wildlife, hunting, conservation, and the Club's big game records program. As a publisher of books on fine sporting arms and hunting, we recognize hunting as a significant mechanism for conservation. We often do not think of big game trophies as proof of successful conservation, but we should."

Stevens added, "Bob Lee was one of the early adopters seeing value in the Club's big game records program and its ties to the conservation and management of these species. His first B&C trophy entry was a woodland caribou taken in 1951 and honored at our 5th Awards banquet."

In October 2016, the Club will release its newest record book, 29th Big Game Awards. The next edition in its popular and collectible book series will feature nearly 4,000 new Boone and Crockett-qualifying trophies entered and accepted during the 29th Awards period (2013-2015) in 36 different categories of North American big game, from whitetail to walrus.

Boone and Crockett Club began keeping trophy records in 1906 as a way of detailing species once headed for extinction. Today, trophy data reflect population health and habitat quality. Biologists compare and contrast records to improve local management strategies as well as state and federal wildlife polices.

To date, the growing list of sponsors for the Boone and Crockett Club 29th Big Game Awards includes Wild Sheep Foundation, Federal Premium Ammunition, Dallas Safari Club, DNZ Products, Americase, Weatherby, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Kimber Manufacturing, Buck Knives, the Mule Deer Foundation, and the Guide and Outfitters Association of British Columbia
