Florida State Big Game Records

In the land of Disneyworld, swamps, and retirees, Florida actually has some record entries

Florida actually has millions of acres of public land on which to hunt. The bad news is that those whitetail deer and black bears living there are not going to make the records. Even so, there are two non-typical whitetail entries from the Sunshine State, but the most recent is from 1959. Both bucks came from the central part of the Panhandle. One hunter did score a book-making black bear in 2015, which is the only hunter-taken bear in the records for the state. The other three bears were all pick ups, and they are owned by the state.
