Father's Day Idea: New Books from B&C

PUBLISHED May 19, 2014

Father's Day is June 15. If you're shopping for a hunter, adventurer, conservationist or reader, the Boone and Crockett Club has five new books that would make perfect gifts.
Brand new are four digitally re-mastered classics in paperback, in the Club's B&C Classics Series including:

  • A Hunter's Wanderings in Africa by Frederick Courteney Selous
  • Camp-Fires in the Canadian Rockies by William T. Hornaday and John M. Phillips
  • African Game Trails by Theodore Roosevelt
  • The Wilderness of the Upper Yukon by Charles Sheldon

Each book was authored by a member of the Boone and Crockett Club in the late 1800s or early 1900s and hand-selected by a panel of experts on vintage hunting literature. Readers will be taken back to a time when hunting trips didn't happen over a weekend, but were adventures lasting weeks or months. High-quality photographs and drawings from decades long gone are scattered throughout these titles.

These classics are priced at $24.95 each and can be purchased directly from Boone and Crockett or calling 888-840-4868.

Another Father's Day gift idea is Back from the Hunt, a newly re-published paperback edition of Boone and Crockett's latest big-game records book.

Like its hardcover predecessor, Back from the Hunt contains detailed tabular listings of more than 5,000 trophies accepted into Boone and Crockett records during 2010-2012, the Club's 28th awards period. Each listing includes B&C gross score, final score, county-level location and date of kill, hunter name, rank and more. Hundreds of photos, plus a special full-color section with best-of-the-best field photography, are included.

Also featured are stories behind more than 100 of the period's top trophies. Written by the lucky hunters, the tales offer unforgettable adventures: exploring trophy areas, long-held family traditions, new traditions in the making, friendships made, hardships endured.

At 704 pages, "Back from the Hunt" is priced at $29.95 and is available in bookstores or directly from Boone and Crockett or calling 888-840-4868.

Boone and Crockett Club members ($35 annual dues includes subscription to Fair Chase magazine) receive a discount on books purchased directly from the Club.
