Buck Knives joins the growing list of sponsors for one of North America’s longest-running celebrations of big-game conservation and management - the Boone and Crockett Club 29th Big Game Awards, scheduled for July 14-16, 2016, in Springfield, Missouri.

The triennial Boone and Crockett Club 29th Big Game Awards will take place at the Bass Pro Shops flagship store in Springfield. The event offers a public exhibition of World’s Records and Top-5 trophies in all categories of native North American big game, plus records-book specimens taken during the past three years by hunters age 16 and under.

"This is an opportunity for the public to appreciate big game trophies for what they really are, symbols of the success of America’s conservation system," said Club President Morrie Stevens. "The trophies on display are a result of sustainable use conservation and verification that science-informed programs are working to ensure wildlife for future generations."

Bob George, VP of Sales and Marketing at Buck Knives said, "The Buck family has always been an advocate for wildlife conservation and for public hunting as a foundation for conservation. Buck Knives strives to conduct business in ways to support these efforts. These Big Game Awards provide an opportunity to educate the public of the benefits of implementing the North American Model of Conservation. Speaking on behalf of Buck Knives and for the Buck family, we are honored to once again be are part of this event."

Stevens added, "Buck Knives is a longtime supporter of the Boone and Crockett Club conservation, and sportsmen. Their knives are synonymous with the rugged, self-reliant lifestyle of the outdoors, something the Club’s founder, Theodore Roosevelt held in highest regard."

In addition to the trophy exhibition, the event offers registered attendees a chance to enjoy a world-class museum and aquarium dedicated to the American sportsman, an auction featuring hunts in top trophy regions across the continent and evening awards banquets and presentations.

In October 2016, the Club will release its newest record book, 29th Big Game Awards. The next edition in its popular and collectible book series will feature nearly 4,000 new Boone and Crockett-qualifying trophies entered and accepted during the 29th Awards period (2013-2015) in 36 different categories of North American big game, from whitetail to walrus.

Boone and Crockett Club began keeping trophy records in 1906 as a way of detailing species once headed for extinction. Today, trophy data reflect population health and habitat quality. Biologists compare and contrast records to improve local management strategies as well as state and federal wildlife polices.

To date, the growing list of sponsors for the Boone and Crockett Club 29th Big Game Awards includes Wild Sheep Foundation, Federal Premium Ammunition, Dallas Safari Club, DNZ Products, Americase, Weatherby, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and Kimber Manufacturing.
