Yeti Joins B&C's 'Trailblazers of Conservation'

PUBLISHED April 25, 2016

Through Trailblazers in Conservation, YETI is backing the Club's work in promoting scientific wildlife management, balanced policies, hunter advocacy and broader public understanding of the applications and benefits of sustainable-use conservation.

"YETI's innovative products have forever changed the premium cooler market. Their brand name is associated with high-quality and their dedication to producing the finest products in their category for outdoor lifestyles is in line with our devotion to conserving wildlife and habitat," said CJ Buck vice president of communications for Boone and Crockett. "We are honored to have them on board as partners."

YETI was founded in 2006 with the simple mission to build a cooler that could stand up to the abusive nature of hardcore outdoor pursuits. Born out of necessity and developed from extensive field experience, the YETI name has become synonymous with durability and quality.

"YETI founders Roy and Ryan Seiders grew up chasing big whitetails and casting for red fish across Texas and beyond. For them, it was and is a way of life," said Hunting Marketing Manager Ben O'Brien. "That's why YETI is proud to support the Boone & Crockett Club and their efforts to protect and further the pursuits that laid the groundwork for our products. We look forward to a strong alliance that will push forward the conservation efforts of those who value our wildlife resources and fair chase pursuits."

The Boone and Crockett Club, founded by Theodore Roosevelt in 1887, has a long history in conservation. Club members were instrumental in lobbying for the 1937 Pittman-Robertson Act, which levies an excise tax on ammunition, firearms, bows and arrows as a funding mechanism for conservation.

Boone and Crockett also played a vital role in other milestone conservation measures such as the Lacey Act, federal Duck Stamp program, National Wilderness Preserve Act, Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, Farm Bills from the 1930s to now, and many others.

YETI Coolers joins Leupold & Stevens, Boyt Harness Co., Buck Knives, Swarovski Optik, Bass Pro Shops, Nosler, Hornady, Zeiss, Smith & Wesson, Bushnell, Winchester Ammunition, SIG SAUER, Sitka Gear, and Kimber Manufacturing as partners in Trailblazers in Conservation.
