Seasoned conservation executive brings more than two decades of major gift development and philanthropic leadership to North America’s oldest wildlife conservation organization.
The Boone and Crockett Club is proud to welcome Al Clark as its new chief development officer. A respected leader in conservation philanthropy, Clark brings more than two decades of nonprofit leadership and fundraising experience to the Club’s executive team.
In his new role, Clark will lead fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and philanthropic growth to advance the Club’s mission of promoting science-based wildlife management, habitat stewardship, fair chase hunting ethics, and big game research across North America.

Schoonen, chief executive officer of the Boone and Crockett Club. "His deep commitment to North American wildlife, combined with his strategic vision and fundraising expertise, make him the ideal leader to strengthen our capacity and protect our hunting heritage for generations to come."
A native of South Carolina, Clark’s passion for conservation was shaped on his family's farm, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for hunting, fishing, and responsible land stewardship. He began his fundraising career at Furman University, then joined Wofford College where he managed major donors and capital campaigns during his nine-year tenure.
Clark then spent over a decade driving major gift strategies for top conservation organizations. He served as director of development for Ducks Unlimited, securing major and planned gifts over three years, before joining the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) as national director of development. During his seven years at NWTF, he led efforts to secure critical operating and endowment support. Most recently, as chief development officer for the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, he directed strategic fundraising initiatives that expanded the organization's ability to safeguard America’s hunting, fishing, and conservation traditions.
