Attn: Teachers! Conservation Across Boundaries Deadline Extended

PUBLISHED April 8, 2009

Conservation Across Boundaries (CAB)™ Enhancing Wildlife Conservation Through Education

DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR 2009 COURSES!

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MAY 1, 2009.

CAB courses incorporate many hands-on field investigations through a systems approach. Land management and wildlife conservation practices on public and private lands are considered and discussed. Comparisons of topics and issues associated with conservation on local and regional levels and across political and ecological boundaries are emphasized. Furthermore, course methodologies, materials, and local conservation related projects are geared toward specific science disciplines but time is taken to demonstrate how conservation related activities can be enhanced in classrooms that integrate social, economic, political and ecological disciplines.

CAB GOAL
The ultimate goal is for teachers to enable their students to ask informed questions and conceptualize a systems view of the underlying causes and solutions to local issues regarding fish, wildlife and natural resources in their communities and then apply to global perspectives.

CAB OBJECTIVES

Conservation Across Boundaries® courses are designed to train teachers to integrate biological and ecological sciences, natural resource conservation issues, and computer technology with regional historical and cultural knowledge unique to ecological regions.
