It is the policy of the Boone
and Crockett Club to promote the guardianship and provident
management of big game and associated wildlife in North
America and maintain the highest standards of fair chase
and sportsmanship in all aspects of big game hunting, in
order that this resource of all the people may survive and
prosper in its natural habitats. Consistent with this objective,
the Club supports the use and enjoyment of our wildlife
heritage to the fullest extent by this and future generations.

Since its founding by Theodore Roosevelt in 1887, the Boone and
Crockett Club and its members have shaped Americas natural
resource management system. The accepted policies and protocols
for natural resource policy today are based upon the original
legal foundation put into place by the Club and its members.
Boone and Crockett Club supports science and research, so the
proper knowledge and methods will be employed when addressing
current and future wildlife management and conservation issues.
This support ensures wise use of our natural resources with management
backed by science. Boone and Crockett Club supports programs that
have a positive affect on all issues that promote hunting as the
vital and reliable game management tool by developing educational
programs that empower teachers to bring to their classrooms hands-on
training and lesson plans relating to the relationship between
man, wildlife, and its habitat.
Boone and Crockett Club established and maintains the highest
standards for the ethical, sportsmanlike, and lawful pursuit of
game. Hunting, game laws, and fair chase guidelines recognized
today are a direct result of the statement, philosophies, and
efforts of the Club.
Boone and Crockett Club promotes selective hunting for mature
big game species as a game management tool for maintaining balanced
and healthy herd populations. The Clubs North American Big
Game records program serves as a vital conservation record for
documenting the success of wildlife management programs.
